Here at C&E Wurzer Builders we couldn’t have asked for a better start to the 2012 calendar year. I have noticed a lot of people are interested in starting early this year as far as bidding on their spring/summer/fall projects. With the weather being fantastic for this time of year people are motivated to get started early. I feel that it is never too early to get a start on pricing your next remodel or custom home project. It is good to get that connection with a builder and establish a budget according to what you can afford. In Eau Claire building has fallen off but with the great interest rates and aggressive contractors in the area the price of building your own custom home is still makes a lot of sense. Affordability is one of the biggest factors in the Eau Claire market on whether most people will decide to build vs buy existing. There is just something to be said about having a brand new custom home tailored to all of your families needs. I am truly looking forward to the year of 2012. I believe it is going to be a steady year with and interest rates and the price of land is still right.
Home Remodelers Show and Packer Sunday
We will be at the Home Remodelers Show on October 1st at the Eau Claire Expo Center @ 5530 Fairview Dr, Eau Claire, WI. The times will be from 9am-5pm. If you buy your tickets in advance its $3 or $5 at the door. It will be over 50 exibitors from concrete to lighting to general contractors. It will be a great time to sit down and talk to our potential clients that aren’t quite at the point of getting a bid but want to get educated before they start their remodel or new construction. On a lighter note. The Packers play the Bears this weekend which should be an excellent central division match up. I have high expectations that Aaron Rodgers is going to light up the Bears secondary. I also like the fact that the Bears offensive line is looking pretty weak this year. I expect that Woodson might get a couple nice corner blitzes right at Culter.
Interest Rates and Product Pricing
Get the interest rate that you have always dreamed about. 15 year fixed are now under 4%. 30 year fixed are all under 5% with qualifying credit. I’m a huge believer that if you have the credit and a little flexiablity now is the time to be buying. When you look at what the price of products, the competitive bidding by sub-contractors, and the price of land. You combined that with low interest rates your bound for a good return on your investment. June home sales in Wisconsin actually showed an increase of 1.1% in the month of June. I’m not saying thats a huge increase but in an economy where everyone is being a little skeptical it can’t be a bad sign. We are seeing a huge trend into remodeling as well which can be a positive attribute to a property as long as it fits the neighborhood.
Model Homes
We have just completed to houses on the west side of Eau Claire in the neighborhood of Shorewood Heights Estates. These two homes are our model homes to show our clients.
